What investors, residents and companies ask us most — about setup, Premium Residency, compliance, payment and your data.
Getting started and accounts
What is Mohla?
Mohla is an independent Saudi company. We set up companies for foreign investors and residents, prepare Premium Residency files, and keep companies compliant with Mohla Comply. Our team does the work on the government platforms, and you follow every step in your Mohla account, in Arabic or English.
Is Mohla a government body?
No. Mohla is an independent Saudi company. We are not a government body, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official partner of any authority. We work on the government platforms on your behalf and record every step in your account.
How do I get started with Mohla?
Create an account with your email and confirm it with a 6-digit code. Fill in a short profile — name, phone, country of residence, language, and whether it is for you or a company — then answer a few questions about what you need. Mohla reviews your answers and sends a written quote to your account. Your case starts when you accept it.
Is it free to create an account or get a quote?
Yes. Creating an account and receiving a quote is free. Nothing is charged and no work starts until you accept a quote.
Can I open a company in Saudi Arabia from abroad?
Yes. You create your account, accept the quote and upload your documents online, from anywhere. Some documents must be attested in your home country, and the power of attorney to Mohla must be signed and attested; your case shows exactly which ones. Mohla also arranges your general manager's visa and iqama.
Can Mohla guarantee my licence or residency?
No one honestly can. Licences, registrations and residencies are decided by the competent authority. Mohla prepares your file properly, tells you plainly where you stand, and follows it to a decision.
Company setup
How long does it take to open a company in Saudi Arabia as a foreigner?
Mohla's target is 25 working days for a services company, 28 for trading and 35 for industrial. The Entrepreneur route is 30 working days and a Regional Headquarters 60. The time an authority takes to review your file is extra, and your case page always shows the working days left.
Can a foreign investor open a company in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Under the Investment Law, a foreign investor registers with the Ministry of Investment (MISA) before investing, then the company's commercial registration is issued. Mohla first checks that your activity is open to foreign investment, then files the registration for you.
Do I still need a MISA investment licence?
The updated Investment Law replaced the licensing procedure with registration. MISA now issues an investment registration certificate, and with it the company can be registered with the Ministry of Commerce.
What documents do I need to set up a company in Saudi Arabia?
For a foreign investor, usually: a passport valid for at least six months; your home-country company's commercial registration, articles, latest financial statements and a board resolution, attested in your home country; a power of attorney to Mohla (we prepare the template, you sign and attest it); and an office lease. Your case gives you one list for your route, and we review each document you upload.
I live in Saudi Arabia on an iqama. Can I start my own company?
Yes. As a non-Saudi founder you can set up as a foreign investor, through MISA's Entrepreneur Registration, or as a Premium Residency holder. A few questions in your account tell Mohla which route fits you, and we recommend it before any work starts.
How does the Entrepreneur route work for a startup?
A startup takes MISA's Entrepreneur Registration instead of the standard investment registration, then registers the company. Mohla checks your eligibility first. The file usually includes a pitch deck, a financial plan, the team's profiles and an endorsement letter from a licensed incubator, accelerator or university. Mohla's target is 30 working days.
Can Mohla set up a Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. For multinationals joining MISA's Regional Headquarters Program, Mohla handles the setup as one project with one team: eligibility, the group's document pack, the registrations and the executives' residency. Mohla's target is 60 working days, plus the authorities' review time.
What happens after the commercial registration is issued?
Mohla registers the company with the Chamber of Commerce, the National Address, ZATCA, GOSI, Qiwa and Mudad; arranges your general manager's work permit, visa and iqama; prepares the letter to open the company's bank account; and hands over your complete company file. You can then move to Mohla Comply.
Mohla Comply
What is Mohla Comply?
A monthly service that keeps your company's licences, filings and employee documents on one calendar. You get reminders before each date, a fines check every 15 days, and a monthly report — and you can request a renewal from any licence.
Which dates and filings does Mohla Comply track?
Up to 19 kinds, across 11 authorities: the commercial registration's yearly confirmation, financial statements, MISA and RHQ obligations, VAT, withholding tax, zakat and income tax, GOSI contributions, Qiwa contracts, work permits and Nitaqat, the Mudad payroll file, iqamas, the Balady licence, Chamber membership, the National Address and Premium Residency renewal. Your calendar shows only the ones that apply to you.
How do the compliance reminders work?
By email and phone notification, 60, 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before each date, and every day in the final week if you want. You choose which ones you get and who in your company receives them. WhatsApp and SMS reminders are coming soon.
How does the government fines check work?
Every 15 days, Mohla's team checks GOSI, Mudad, Qiwa, ZATCA, Balady, the Ministry of Commerce and Muqeem for fines and violations, and records the date and result of each check in your account. If something is found, you are told at once.
What is in the monthly compliance report?
For each month: what was due and how each item ended, fines found and settled, any open fines, licences expiring in the next 90 days, next month's items and your Nitaqat position. It is in Arabic or English, and you can save it as a PDF to share with your board or bank.
Is Mohla connected directly to the government platforms?
Not yet. Today Mohla's team reads each platform and keeps your records current by hand, and every item says “Kept up to date by Mohla”. Direct connections will come one platform at a time, and we will say clearly when one is live.
Does a commercial registration still expire in Saudi Arabia?
No. Under the Commercial Register Law, a commercial registration no longer has an expiry date, but its data must be confirmed every 12 months. If it is not confirmed, the registration can be suspended and later struck off. Mohla Comply puts the confirmation date on your calendar.
Does Mohla renew my licences automatically?
Not without you. You tap Request renewal on a licence, Mohla sends a quote, and the work starts only after the Owner or Finance colleague accepts it. The renewal then becomes a case you can follow.
How are Mohla Comply plans priced?
Plans are monthly and sized to your company, from one company to a group. Your quote states what your plan includes. Ending a plan stops future months; a month already started remains due.
Quotes, payment, invoices and refunds
How much does Mohla charge?
Every file is different, so Mohla does not publish a price list. You receive a written quote showing Mohla's fee and exactly what it includes. Mohla's fee excludes VAT, and government fees are separate and passed on at cost. Nothing starts until you accept the quote.
Who can accept a quote for my company?
The Owner or a Finance colleague. You can also decline a quote and tell us why. Work outside an accepted quote always needs a new or updated quote first.
How do I pay Mohla?
After you accept a quote, you receive an invoice with the bank transfer details. Pay by bank transfer quoting the invoice number, then upload the transfer receipt in your account. Online card payment is coming soon.
Is VAT added to Mohla's fee?
Yes, where it applies, at the standard rate of 15%. Government fees are passed on exactly as the authority charges them.
Where do I find my invoices?
In your Mohla account. Each invoice can be downloaded as a PDF, and refunds, if any, are recorded on your invoice history.
Can I cancel and get a refund?
You can cancel a case at any time, by message in the platform, email or WhatsApp. What remains due is Mohla's fee for work already done, government fees already paid to an authority, and costs already paid to others for you, such as translation or attestation. Any refund of Mohla's fee follows the terms in your quote and is paid by bank transfer.
If the government refuses my application, do I get my money back?
A refusal or delay by an authority is not, by itself, a reason for a refund. Mohla's fee is for preparing, filing and following your file, which is done whatever the authority decides. Government fees are paid to the authority, not to Mohla.
Documents and security
Where are my documents stored, and are they safe?
In your Mohla account, not in a chat thread. Files are kept in private storage and are never public: each upload and download uses its own link that expires after five minutes, and every view or download is recorded.
Who at Mohla can see my documents?
The case manager assigned to your case and Mohla's managers. Support staff see only files attached to a conversation they handle, and our finance team only payment receipts. Outside partners, such as a certified translator, get time-limited access to only what their task needs. Passport and iqama numbers are masked on staff screens.
Will Mohla ask for my government platform passwords?
The Mohla platform has no place for your government-platform passwords and does not store them. We act with the documents and authorisations you give us, such as a power of attorney you sign and, where required, attest.
How does Mohla protect my personal data under the PDPL?
We collect what your service needs and use it to deliver it; we do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Under the Personal Data Protection Law you can ask how your data is used, get a copy, correct it, and have it deleted when the law no longer requires us to keep it. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
How long does Mohla keep my documents?
While you are a client, and afterwards for as long as the law requires: case files and documents for up to 10 years, and invoices for the period tax law sets. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 24 hours.
How do I report a security concern?
If you think someone has used your account, or you find a security weakness on our website or platform, email hello@mohla.co straight away and tell us what you saw and when. Please never send passwords or full ID numbers by email.
Your Mohla account
How do I track my case?
Your case page shows the stage you are in (for example “Stage 4 of 8”), whose move it is, the documents we need from you, what comes next and the working days left.
Can I see what has been done on my case so far?
Yes. A progress log shows what is happening now, what is next and what is done, day by day, and your case history lists when it opened, each step completed and each document requested, uploaded, approved or sent back.
Where do I find my licences and certificates?
Under “What Mohla got for you” in your case. Each licence and registration Mohla obtains for you is also added to your documents, ready to view and download any time.
How do I talk to the Mohla team?
Through the chat in your account, answered by a person. Outside working hours, your message becomes a support request so nothing is lost. You can also email or WhatsApp us.
Is there a Mohla mobile app?
There is no app in the App Store or Google Play. Mohla works in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen to use it like an app and get notifications when something changes. On iPhone, notifications need iOS 16.4 or later and Mohla added to the home screen.
Can my colleagues use the same account, and what can each one see?
Yes. The Owner invites colleagues by email and gives each a role. Owner: everything, including quotes and payment. HR and government affairs: employees, iqamas, licences and documents. Finance: quotes, invoices and payments, without documents or employee data. View only: overview, case status and the calendar, with nothing to download or change.
Timelines and government fees
What does Mohla mean by “working days”?
Sunday to Thursday, Riyadh time, excluding public holidays. All Mohla's target times are counted in working days.
When does the clock start, and when does it pause?
It starts when you accept the quote. It pauses while the case waits on you, on an authority or on a partner — never because of a delay on Mohla's side. Target times are estimates, not guarantees.
How long does MISA take to review an investment registration?
MISA's FAQ states a review of up to 10 days, and documents submitted to MISA do not need translation. This is the ministry's own time, on top of Mohla's work.
What are the government fees to register a company in Saudi Arabia?
They depend on the route and the authority. For example, business.sa lists SAR 1,200 plus SAR 500 for publication, plus VAT, to establish a limited liability company under an investment registration certificate. MISA says its registration fee is set by the ministry on approval and must be paid within 15 business days. Mohla passes every government fee on at cost.
What happens if GOSI contributions or withholding tax are paid late?
GOSI contributions are due within the first 15 days of the following month, and the Social Insurance Law sets a 2% fine for each month or part of a month late. Withholding tax is due by the 10th of the following month, with 1% of the unpaid tax for each 30 days late. Mohla Comply reminds you before each date.
Are government fees included in Mohla's quote?
No. Government fees are set by each authority, kept separate and passed on exactly as charged, never marked up. Authorities can change them without notice.
Language and support
Which languages does Mohla work in?
Arabic and English, on every screen and in every message. More languages are planned.
What are Mohla's working hours?

Is the Arabic or English version of the terms binding?
